Boost your BRAIN POWER in as little as 7 days
… and help reduce ‘senior’ moments
Have you been growing increasingly concerned about your mental health? Forgetting things, struggling to find the right words, not coping with day-to-day challenges?
What if combating brain fog and memory lapses, and slowing age-related mental decline was as simple as doing just ONE simple thing every day?
Study by York University shows dance classes may help slow Parkinsons progression
Turns out dance classes helps the brain maintain its neuroplasticity. You’re listening to music, you’re moving your feet to choreographed movements, stepping in time with someone else, listening to the instructor… and you’re having fun in a social context!
All this, researcher Dr Joseph DeSouza believes is why people who take up dancing have better outcomes with their Parkinson’s.
In the longitudinal study that lasted over three and a half years, saw a significant slowing of the disease in those with Parkinson’s who attended dance classes.
The researchers believe it’s the multisensory aspect of dance classes that holds the greatest benefits for managing the progression of this disease.
This isn’t the first we know about dancing classes being beneficial for Parkinson’s – the ‘Dancing with Parkinson’s’ programme in Canada has been running successfully for over 20 years.
It started off as a project to help patients maintain their motor skills and it does that and much more!
But if you’re not ready to take on a new dance class – find out below what else you can do…

Try this alternative to dance classes too for Parkinsons
If there aren’t any dance classes around your home that you can join – why not be the one to organise this for yourself and others…
And until you get that going, take a brisk walk once or twice a day, and count backwards from 100 with each step, while listening to music. Then the next day, do your times tables or count in twos, then threes, etc.
The idea is to push your body a little AND your brain so that it develops new neural pathways.
And, if you can, after your walk, meet up with your friends for a nice cup of tea. That’s another benefit of dance classes – the social aspect.
