Dear Health Bytes Friend,
As you may have noticed, I’ve almost done a full circle on my view on health…
We tend to always want to add something to fix a problem – a supplement here or a pharmaceutical there…
And, before you know it, you’re taking a handull of pills every day – and not feeling any better for it…
Now, don’t get me wrong, I am an absolute believer in taking vitamins and supplements – our foods don’t offer us the same nutrients they did 50 years ago, and there’s nothing wrong with nourishing the body with nutrients it doesn’t make enough of anymore – due to ageing or our diets and lifestyles…
But we need to take a deeper look to make sure we have the basics right – that’s the foundation to good health…
One of these is making sure you’re stocking your kitchen well.
So, read on below to find some tips that can help you do that, and avoid common pitfalls that can derail your health…
The “Perfect 11” formula for ultimate joint health!
Not only does Ultimate JointFlex speed nutrients that soothe inflammation to your hurting bones and joints, it harnesses the repair power of 11 extraordinary joint-health ingredients in one turbo charged formula!

Shop more wisely with these tips…
In general – stick to the perimeter of the shop
That’s where the whole foods are packed – the veggie department, butcher, fish counter and deli for cheese, yoghurt and milk…
At the bakery, if you have to, pick a wholegrain bread, and try avoid factory pre-packed breads. Opt for bread baked in-store as it’s less likely to contain propionic acid – a toxic preservative.
If you venture into the inner part of the store, you’ll be tempted to buy packaged foods – which you already know are less healthy – so keep to absolute minimum.
Don’t shop on an empty stomach
You’ll buy all sorts of unhealthy, ready-to-eat foods if you do.
Get organised
Plan your meals, and your shopping list, before you venture off to the shops.
This will take all the guess-work out of shopping, you’ll be able to keep to your budget, and you won’t come home with extra nasty items…
But it does take willpower, so work on it – it gets better…

If you buy packaged goods, compare them
Be choosy… Read the labels and compare which products have less of the bad ingredients.
Before you dash off to the till, check your trolley
Make sure you have everything you came for – that will limit the number of visits to the shop – and temptations…
Did you pick something up on impulse that you can put back because your body really doesn’t need it?
Do you have enough colours when it comes to fruit and veggies? You want dark greens, light greens, oranges, yellow and reds.
Did you choose lean protein?
Okay now you’re ready to pay and go home with the ingredients (the foundation) of a healthy diet!
To your health,
A.Pombo
